Kirstie
Gillon-Wood is the founder of 90 Degree Coaching Limited, a company devoted
to supporting those wanting to create independence, and achieve personal and
professional success.
Having gained invaluable knowledge, skills and experience over the past ten
years in Australia, Canada and the UK, Kirstie is now established back home
in New Zealand. She is a qualified, accredited coach, graduating with distinction
from The Coaching Academy, Europe's largest coaching school.
Kirstie's journey into coaching was a natural one when she found herself with
severe Post Natal Depression after the arrival of her first born. "Becoming
a mother sent me into a tail-spin. Within 6 months I was a shell of my former
self, having lost a sense of self-value, confidence and identity."
At this time Kirstie was based in the UK and looked for help but there was nothing
other than the usual books on raising children. Everything to do with becoming
a parent was child-focused, there was very little in the way of support for
new mums. Amongst various other tools and resources to get her back on the road
to recovery, Kirstie turned to self-coaching from a book borrowed from the library.
She was hooked and immersed herself for the following two years in numerous
books, audios and courses on coaching, counselling, training, and development.
"Throughout my employed life, I was constantly frustrated by my nature
of always wanting to change things and improve upon them. Employers don't always
take kindly to what they perceived as negative feedback! I thought there was
something wrong with me...I seemed to have this inability to stick with a job.
But when I became a mother and got PND I took time out to review my options.
I realised what my previous employers had viewed as 'weaknesses' were actually
strengths. I wanted to improve the quality of my life - and I did, mainly through
coaching."
Kirstie acknowledges that while books, seminars and home study courses are helpful,
but she believes it is when people work together that success is created. "Working
together is how you will create the business and lifestyle that suits you."
She credits her own Mentors and Coaches to helping her achieve her goals.
Known in the UK as 'The Coach for Women and Mothers' Kirstie quickly recognised
that while women want more fulfilment they aren't entirely clear on exactly
what they want. So they do nothing and therefore resentment and anger builds.
"Most women set up a business from a passion to help others
or work hours around their family, but sadly most of these businesses don't
even survive their first year. Never mind all the logistics and practical aspects
of being self-employed, it also takes a lot of self-belief...if you don't have
that, it won't work."
"I want to give every woman the same self-belief, confidence and self-value
I have."
It's for this reason Kirstie has created step by step programmes that encourage
interaction, focus and results. Kirstie offers 1:1 business and life coaching
sessions, small group workshops, e-Courses, eBooks, Special Reports and free
articles containing information on improving relationships, time management,
sustaining business success, generating wealth and much, much more!
